Ella's Ordination to the Priesthood
Those of us who were privileged to attend the Ordination Service on 14 June and Ella’s first celebration of the Eucharist on the following day will agree that both occasions were joyous and uplifting. It was good that Jonathan, Ella's husband, was able to participate in both services.
Ella has made a splendid contribution to the pastoral and worshipping life of Timperley Parish over the last two years and we look forward to the rest of her service with us, which, in the nature of curacies is, sadly, likely to be all too short!

Christ Church Organ
Work is continuing on the renovation of the organ. Some work was done about 10 years ago and the last big overhaul was about 50 years ago. Following a survey which revealed many signs of old age the PCC agreed that we should undertake this major renovation now so as to leave the instrument in good condition for some decades to come. The organ was completely dismantled with the majority of the parts taken to David Wells' factory in Liverpool with the remainder stored in the Lady Chapel. Reassembly continues with completion expected by the end of June.
The organ is estimated to be about 100 years old and was built by Wadsworth & Brother of Manchester. It is thought to be one of the last of its kind and worthy of its preservation. We look forward to hearing it again and perhaps sounding as it did in the early 1900's.

New Storage Project at Holy Cross
Building work is now complete and alterations to the hall stage area and new access door are finished. Decoration and finishing touches are in hand.

Praise and Play
The next Praise and Play Service will be at Christ Church on Tuesday July at 1.50pm. The theme will be 'Growing Up'. These services are suitable for all pre-school children with their parents /carers or grandparents.

Christ Church Toddler Groups

These well-established, friendly, groups for pre-school children with their parents or carers are held every Thursday during school term times 9.45am - 11.15am and 1.15pm - 2.45pm at Broomwood School, Mainwood Road, Timperley.
